Basic Education Coalition leader joins Creative Associates International
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]February 5, 2015—International education expert Cris Revaz joins Creative Associates International as Senior Education Counsel, the global development company announced.
From Creative’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, Revaz will help guide the company’s global program teams working to stem school dropout, bring technology to the classroom and boost early grade literacy in the midst of conflict in transitioning states.
“It takes a great deal of collaboration and vision to build systems that empower citizens through quality education,” says Leland Kruvant, President of Creative. “Cris is not only an expert in this field, but also has the consensus-building experience needed to bring all our partners together to achieve these goals.”
Previously, as Executive Director of the Basic Education Coalition, Revaz managed a coalition of 17 U.S. based nongovernmental organizations advancing access to literacy, math, critical thinking and life skills for children around the world. He is a thought leader in the field on post-2015 education development goals and safe, universal access to education.
“The biggest challenges in global education speak to learning and equity—ensuring that all children and youth, regardless of identity or circumstance, are acquiring the knowledge and skills they need for success in later education, the workplace and in life,” says Revaz. “Creative has a really strong understanding of how the all the different elements of quality education are connected—at the student level, the teacher, and the larger system—and how to design and implement programs that keep kids in school and learning.”
Revaz has co-chaired the American Bar Association’s Subcommittee on the Rights of the Child and International Human Rights Committee. He has more than 20 years of experience as an international trade lawyer.
He holds a J.D. from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in U.S. History and Human Relations from Connecticut College.
