The Miguel Ángel Pavón outreach center welcomed its first beneficiaries. The San Pedro Sula, Honduras, outreach center provides a safe place for the neighborhood’s youth, many of whom are unable to attend school or have dropped out, have parents living outside the country or have economically unstable households. The Miguel Ángel Pavón community has no secondary schools or basic education centers, and students have to walk at least 20 minutes to attend the nearest school. In addition, the community has no recreational facilities such as sports fields or youth clubs, leaving youth more exposed to gang-related activity.
