Education can be a source of healing and stability during conflict. At the height of violent extremists’ attacks in northern Nigeria, mais do que 2.5 million people were forced to flee their homes. Com mais de 1 million children among the victims, a clear path forward was needed to ensure learning continued in a safe environment.
Over the last three years, o Projeto de resposta à crise educacional has responded to this need by providing more than 80,000 crianças e jovens deslocados ou fora da escola com competências básicas de literacia e numeracia e apoio psicossocial em ambientes seguros e de apoio, chamados centros de aprendizagem não formal. The project was funded by the NÓS. Agência para o Desenvolvimento Internacional e implementado pela Creative Associates International, o Comitê Internacional de Resgate, o governo nigeriano e organizações não governamentais locais.
As the project comes to a close, look inside the communities that made it possible for learners to find a brighter path forward.
