Does knowledge change behavior?

Over the past 20 years, USAID has funded dozens of Early Grade Reading Programs Worldwide. Progress has been steady, but the impact in terms of the percentage of pupils who are proficient readers has been disappointing. While other sectors have been quick to leverage insights from behavioral science, the education sector is still learning how to integrate it.
This study presents the findings from applying a behavioral science research lens to multiple education programs. It will discuss the findings and provide recommendations regarding how behavioral science can be used to improve education program implementation.
