Jamie Helfer is Director of the Global Operations and Performance department, which oversees the Field Operations, Knowledge Management, Project Performance and Program Analysis and Response units.
In 2023, Jamie served as the interim Vice President of Global Operations, overseeing Field Operations, Security, Grants, MEL, Knowledge Management, Project Performance, and Procurement.
She began her career with Creative in 2011 with the Security Department, working with the Security team until 2020 when she became Director of the Field Operations team. Jamie has over 18 years of international development experience, starting with humanitarian/emergency response work in Sri Lanka with Heart to Heart International from 2006 – 2009, and then moved to Baltimore in 2009 to do emergency response and project management for International Orthodox Christian Charities until 2011.
She has significant experience managing and implementing projects in complex, non-permissive operating environments, from proposal to close-out. She has conducted security assessments, provided operational STTA, led start-ups and close-outs, and/or managed emergency response activities in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Iran, Somalia, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Zambia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Republic of Georgia, and China. Jamie holds a “secret” level security clearance.
She earned a B.S. in Marketing and Business Administration, with a minor in Spanish from Kansas State University.
