Center to first focus on shifts and new trends caused by economic impacts of COVID-19

Thought leader, practitioner todirect the Center 

The Center for Migrationet Economic Stabilization is led by noted expert Manuel Orozco, doctorat, who joined Creative after more than 20 years at the Inter-American Dialogue à Washington, DC. 

Orozco, a reconnuresearcher and analyst of global migration flowsincluding remittanceswill complement Creative’s technical expertise incroissance économique, jeunesse, éducation, gouvernance, citizen security and moreto enrich programming and identify opportunitiesto respond thoughtfully tomigration

Le need for additional expertise and leadership on migration becameplus urgent as COVID-19 spread across the globe, leaving already fragile communities reeling and indicating a major impact on migration patterns for years to come.

In addition to his new role at Creative, Orozco is a Senior Migration Fellow for theCenter for International Development at Harvard University and Senior Migration and Remittances Advisor for theInternational Fund for Agricultural Development. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Texas at Austinan M.A. in public administration and Latin American studiesand a B.A. in international relations from the National University of Costa Rica.
