WASHINGTON, DC. – Creative Associates International is proud to announce that its Education for Development Division was awarded USAIDs Read To Succeed Program (RTS) contract in Zambia. Read To Succeed will support the Zambian Ministry of Education in improving school-level management and learner performance reforms.

A five year effort, RTS is a response to Zambias National Implementation Framework and USAIDs Country Development Strategy to increase reading and math scores by 2016. Zambia faces key challenges in meeting these goals. A high pupil-to-teacher ratio averages 57 à 1 and is even higher in rural areas. Only one in five Zambian children complete 12 years of schooling with dropout rates for girls peaking in grades six, seven, and eight. Selon le 2008 National Assessment the mean performance of students in reading in English was 35.3 pour cent et 39.4 percent in Mathematics. Compounding the stagnation in learning is the high attrition rate of teachers due to low salary levels, isolated teaching posts with few amenities and the HIV/AIDS pandemic that causes hundreds of teacher deaths annually. RTS, under implementation from Creative, will seek to reverse this trend.[/vc_column_text][/vc_colonne][largeur vc_column = »1/12″][/vc_colonne][largeur vc_column = »1/4″][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id= »barre latérale-primaire »][/vc_colonne][/vc_row]
