SUSAN KEMP
Director, Governance
Previously, Kemp served as a Director in Chemonics’ democracy and governance practice, where she provided technical advisory services and training to programs globally and supported learning initiatives. She co-founded and led Chemonics’ Center for Politically Informed Programming, which focused on the integration of thinking and working politically (TWP) and applied political economy analysis globally and across sectors.
Currently she serves on the TWP Community of Practice Steering Committee. She has worked on democracy and governance issues globally, including gender and women’s participation, human rights, accountability, and civil society strengthening, with organizations including World Vision US, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, the National Democratic Institute, and Freedom House. She has provided technical assistance and supported projects across the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
Kemp holds an MA from the University of Denver in International Human Rights, with a concentration in Middle East Studies.
