Michael J. Zamba is an award-winning professional with 30 years of communications, media, journalism and marketing experience. In his role, he oversees all internal and external communications activities for headquarters, as well as providing strategic direction to field offices.
Michael joined Creative in May 2013 after working at the nonprofit Counterpart International, where he was the Vice President of Communications and Partnerships. Under his direction, Counterpart solidified its external messaging, raised its profile among key audiences and won six prestigious communications awards. Previously, he was the Senior Director of Communications at the Pan American Development Foundation in Washington, D.C.
In addition to his endeavors in the international development sector, Michael had a distinguished career in the media in the United States and Latin America. For example, he worked for 13 years in Mexico City as a correspondent, editor, publisher and development director for a variety of U.S. and Mexican media companies.
Michael created and managed the largest circulating English-language daily in Latin America, as well as developed and led seminars that trained nearly 500 journalists, designers and photographers from the region.
He has worked in more than 30 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and Asia.
He is the author of three published books. Michael earned a BA in Print Journalism from American University in Washington, D.C., and is currently in a digital marketing certificate program at Georgetown University.
