40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

Malawi/Girls` Attainment in Basic Literacy and Education– Policy, Planning & Curriculum (GABLE PPC)

Date: December 1995 – June 2000

Creative supported Malawi in its efforts to upgrade the quality of primary education by improving planning, policy and curriculum. This assistance was provided through the USAID-funded Girls' Attainment in Basic Literacy and Education-- Policy, Planning, and Curriculum project to increase girls’ attainment in primary education. Creative helped strengthen the capacity of Ministry of Education staff to analyze existing policies, revise the civic education curriculum and develop plans for sustainable improvements in primary education....

 

 

Malawi/Social Mobilization Campaign for Girls` Attainment in Basic Literacy and Education

Date: October 1993 – September 1998

Creative conducted a social mobilization campaign in Malawi designed to change the attitudes and behaviors of the community--particularly parents with school-age girls--about girls' primary school enrollment and retention. Creative’s approach built on a process where Ministry of Education heads, local development organizations, businesses, parents and the community were actively involved in pinpointing barriers to girls' education, identifying and developing culturally appropriate messages and implementing the campaign....

 

 

Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI)/Oman & Algeria

Date: September 2004 – September 2010

Creative worked with the State Department’s Middle East Partnership Initiative and host country Ministries of Education to make schools in Algeria and Oman more dynamic places for children to learn and develop skills they need to thrive as citizens. The MEPI team conducted capacity-building trainings and built partnerships with ministries to identify priorities for reforms that result in sustainable education programs. The program complemented the governments’ commitments to reforming their education systems....

 

 

Middle East-North Africa/Strategies to Promote Female Education in UNICEF-MENA

Date: June 1992 – April 1993

Creative identified strategies and resources for improving girls' and women's education in UNICEF's Middle East/North Africa Region. Creative analyzed background documents and secondary data and drafted a strategic plan of action to promote girls' and women's education in the region. The plan included an analysis of the status of female education, a finalized conceptual framework and strategies to improve female enrollment, achievement and persistence. The publication was a resource for Ministries of Education as they developed policies and programs....
