40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Legislative Development Project

Date: October 1992 – April 1993

The Consortium for Legislative Development implemented the three-year Regional Legislative Development project for USAID's Bureau of Latin America and the Caribbean. Creative’s evaluation concentrated on activities funded by the core grant, including: determining program effectiveness in achieving objectives; grantee performance in planning and administering technical and financial resources; and the impact of training and technical assistance activities. Lebanon Participation for Economic and Community Development (PEACE)

Economic Growth

The Lebanon Participation for Economic and Community Development project assisted citizens in revitalizing transitional communities, helping them meet self-defined infrastructural, economic and environmental needs while promoting social stability and integration. PEACE strengthened grass-roots organizations and used community participation as a vehicle in mobilizing residents, underscoring the integration of women into decision-making processes and income-generating activities. It helped Lebanese communities build lasting peace by encouraging transparent, democratic participation at all levels of society....

 

 

Lesotho/Primary Education Program

Date: October 1992 – December 1996

Creative worked with the College of Education of Ohio University and the Department of Educational Theory and Practice of the State University of New York, Albany on the Primary Education Program to design a program that would increase access to and the quality of primary education. Creative focused on policy development, infrastructural support and technical adjustments in teacher education and examinations to strengthen Lesotho's institutional capacity to formulate and implement policies and address technical concerns....

 

 

Lester B. Pearson Peacekeeping Centre II

Political Transitions Date: March 1998 – July 1998

Creative provided technical services and disarmament, demobilization and reintegration expertise to the Lester B. Pearson Peacekeeping Centre in Canada, helping design and develop a training course for peacekeepers and organizations engaged in demobilization and reintegration activities....

 

 

Lester B. Pearson Peacekeeping Centre Training Project

Capacity Development Date: March 1997 – May 1997

The Lester Pearson Canadian International Peacekeeping Training Centre selected Creative to help develop two modules for their course on Demobilization and Reintegration, "The Hard Road Home" and to develop the Final Exercise, the capstone of the entire course. The course provided participants with a broad understanding of the issues, processes and experience in demobilization and reintegration programs, to improve the planning and implementation of future programs and related missions. ...

 

 

Liberia Reintegration and Recovery Planning

Political Transitions Date: February 1997 – December 1997

Creative provided technical support to USAID's Africa Bureau and its Monrovia Mission, preparing an in-depth report on the disarmament and demobilization process. The report looked at the outcome of the disarmament and demobilization operations carried out in Liberia from November 1996 to February 1997; assessed the impact of these operations on the existing security conditions in the country; and identified areas for intervention activities to improve security conditions and support national reintegration efforts....
