40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

COSTA RICA: EVALUATION & ORGANIZATIONAL STRENGTHENING

Date: July - November 1991

At the request of USAID's Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Program of the Office of Democratic Initiatives, Creative evaluated the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, focusing on organizational and programming effectiveness in the areas of elections, training of human rights NGOs, and human rights and civic education. The review also included an assessment of the Institute's managerial, administrative and financial capacities; publications and information dissemination; and its annual course on human rights....

 

 

COSTA RICA: MULTIGRADE CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT TEACHER WORKSHOP I AND II

Date: September 1986 - February 1988

Creative developed a teacher's guide and specialized materials for rural, multi-grade classroom teachers and conducted workshops for those teachers based on the new curriculum. This included four five-day workshops for 600+ multi-grade teachers on classroom management, teaching methodologies and the production of teacher materials and an abbreviated two-day workshop on these subjects for their supervisors. ...

 

 

D&G IQC Civil Society Democracy & Governance

Date: July 2000 - July 2005

The Civil Society Democracy & Governance Indefinite Quantity Contract (D& G IQC) provided short-term rapid response capacity and longer-term professional and technical services to USAID Missions and regional bureaus seeking to strengthen the civil society sector in countries undergoing political turmoil or civil strife. Creative, which has an extensive track record working with countries experiencing conflict or political unrest, helped to build or reestablish democratic processes that support a strong, effective and sustainable civil society....

 

 

Development, Implementation, & Maintenance of the SBA Information

Date: October 1987 - December 1992

The project included enhancements to existing general ledger systems of the Small Business Administration (SBA). The application systems were related to several SBA program areas including financial management, Management Information System (MIS) concepts, and normal business type management and reporting. Financial applications included loan application, payment tracking and loan resolution. The system supported SBA's central office operations as well as their regional, district and local offices....

The Automated Funding Document Management System (AFDMS) was a client/server implementation of the Marine Corps Systems Command document management system that managed funding documents and related data for the Operations and Procurement branches of the Systems Command. ...

 

 

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: EVALUATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRENGTHENING – DEMOCRATIC INITIATIVES PROJECT

Date: January - May 1996

Creative conducted a mid-term evaluation of the Democratic Initiatives Project (PID), a ten-year project that awards sub-grants to groups supporting projects which encouraged citizen involvement in the political process. USAID entered into a Cooperative Agreement with the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) to administer it in 1992. The project utilizes USAID’s medio paso atrasâ (a half step behind) philosophy, meaning that Dominicans themselves played an instrumental role in shaping the PID proposal. Once it was approved, many members of the original Consultative Group continued to participate on the project's Consultative Council....
