40+ years of promoting positive change

Creative has implemented hundreds of projects around the globe since it was founded in 1977. From education and elections to governance and economic growth, Creative’s efforts have made a difference. For example, since the year 2000, Creative has trained more than 389,000 teachers in 21 countries—providing them with new skills and techniques that ultimately benefit their students.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA: MEDIA ASSESSMENT 2006

Date: June - August 2006

Under the Democracy and Governance (DG) Analytical Services IQC II, Creative fielded one of two experts to assess the overall impact of current USAID media projects on strengthening the sector within the context of Bosnia’s and Herzegovina’s broader media environment and to provide recommendations regarding the needs and possibilities for further USAID involvement in this sector....

 

 

BOTSWANA: WORKFORCE AND SKILLS TRAINING PROJECT

Date: January 1983 - December 1985

Imbalances in the labor pool meant there were too many unskilled and uneducated workers for the number of available positions and too few highly skilled and educated individuals qualified for others. Creative conducted a needs assessment of Botswana's workforce under the USAID-funded capacity building Workforce and Skills Training (BWAST) project and provided technical assistance and training to increase skill level development and further employment generation....

 

 

CAMEROON: SUPPORT TO PRIMARY EDUCATION

Date: November 1984 - December 1987

The USAID-funded Support to Primary Education project was designed to expand the numbers and skill levels of primary school teachers in Cameroon’s north and northwestern provinces and provide support to program administrators, with the goal of increasing access to quality primary education. Creative provided administrative and logistical support and authored the annual project evaluations....

 

 

Central America – Regional Youth Alliance USAID-SICA (AJR)

Economic Growth Date: January 2008 - January 2012

The Regional Youth Alliance USAID-SICA (AJR USAID/SICA) established community-based, public-private alliances to rehabilitate and reintegrate ex-gang members into society and prevent the participation of youth in gangs. AJR was a direct response to the public security, investment and development challenges caused by youth gangs throughout Central America and the rising crime rate attributed to gang activity in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. CENTRAL AMERICA: STRENGTHENING DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS

Date: March - August 1987

Creative evaluated USAID's experience in Latin America promoting and building democratic institutions from 1961 to 1981 to identify best practices and lessons learned. The report focused on legislative and leadership training, public administration development and civic education. A workshop in Costa Rica reviewed USAID's election assistance in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras and a conference in Washington, DC elicited views from academia, USAID/Washington and the State Department on future democracy-building programs....
