From baseball games and park picnics to panel discussions and Valentine’s Day lunches, Creative’s younger generation is spearheading initiatives to foster community and professional development across the organization.

Creative’s Early Career Employee Resource Group, or CrECER, meaning “to grow” in Spanish, is dedicated to nurturing the potential of emerging leaders within the organization through networking events, celebrations, trainings and more.

CrECER stands out as an affinity group led by young professionals for young professionals. It is a vibrant platform where early career employees can connect, learn and support each other. Through an array of initiatives, CrECER aims to equip its members with the skills and networks necessary to thrive in their careers.

“CrECER was formed out of a widespread desire for collaboration and interaction among early career colleagues outside their functional teams,” says Elisabeth Maxwell, Senior Business Development Associate and CrECER leader. “I believe it has achieved that and more since its inception! Through learning and networking events, CrECER members have not only strengthened relationships with fellow members but with colleagues across the whole organization.”

Networking opportunities are at the heart of CrECER’s activities. The group regularly hosts events that allow members to build meaningful relationships with peers and mentors and help the community flourish.

“I think CrECER has been a great way to meet other people at similar stages in our careers and makes an office environment much more welcoming for younger people,” says Brad Winick, a Business Development Associate who started at Creative in February 2024. “The picnic we had in the early summer was a great way to meet other younger folks who are also new to the industry.”

Professional development is another cornerstone of CrECER’s mission. The group organizes workshops, panel discussions and training sessions tailored to the unique needs of early career professionals. Topics range from leadership and project management to communication and career planning. These sessions provide practical insights and tools from senior staff that members can apply in their daily roles.

“My favorite CrECER event was the panel discussion with three of our C-suite members,” says Ty Magee, Financial Analyst. “They provided critical insight into how they advanced in their careers and advised us on what early career professionals should focus on. CrECER provides early career professionals a safe space to share ideas and the professional struggles they are having and gives them a community to rely on.”

CrECER also strongly emphasizes community service. The group organizes volunteering initiatives like local community clean-ups and fundraisers that allow members to have a positive impact locally and globally. By participating in these efforts, CrECER members contribute to meaningful causes and develop a deeper understanding of the social and economic challenges that Creative aims to address.

“Going forward, my goal for leading the group is to have members feel empowered and supported to take initiative and lead events they are passionate about—whether it be a food drive, a lunch and learn panel discussion, or another holiday celebration event,” Maxwell says. “It’s been incredible to see the cross-divisional collaboration that has contributed to the success of past CrECER events, and I look forward to many more!”
